Posting about our horrible experience in working with Sirva, the insurance provider for North American van lines. Like Mr. Saurbeck, we too have been trying to process a claim for a missing nightstand from our most recent move. The nightstand was actually here, brought up to the bedroom and when it didn't fit, we asked if they would kindly bring it back downstairs. We never saw it again. The three movers were great and honest, we thought. We honestly think it was accidentally reloaded back on the truck with a ton of empty boxes and items we were giving to the guys. But Sirva denied, denied and denied our claim, much like the insurance company in Rainmaker. It's how they end up profitable from the premiums people pay for moving insurance!.
Search for a moving company that does NOT use Sirva as their insurance provider. You'll thank me!
Absolute nightmare dealing with these people and their inability to manage their contractors /agents better than they do.
One of the absolute worst places to work. While the customers are generally amazing, and extremely patient given the circumstances of their moves, the management is less than lacking. It is so highly disorganized and unstructured. Employees are treated poorly aside from a very select few, which ironically are the worst of them all. Although there are a handful of amazing people that work there, the overall feel of the staff is uncooperative, lacking teamwork and understanding, and disrespectful.
Worst job I've had. Creepy manager Vikas kept touching me and asking me to meet after work.I think he was married too. I was a temp so just kept my mouth shut until school started again. If you work here, expect horny old guys and chaotic management. Do not recommend.
We have another claim for a broken elliptical pedal. Driver admitted the casing broke off when carrying it into the house. We'll see if they'll pay for that!
Multiple emails, multiple phone calls and a lot of time wasted when they have no intent of paying out for what is clearly a missing item. But hey, the lady said I signed off on everything being delivered. Who doesn't? Who stands at every doorway and marks off box by box, furniture wrapped item by furniture item, garage item by garage item. We had 16 pages of items to check off. What would they have done if I insisted of checking off every item when THREE men are carrying in multiple items into different doorways. It's impossible and they know it.
A man named John Pontecorvo who works at this company in Fort Wayne called me a freak because I am gay and wear makeup.
The claim representative, Tamara George, admitted in an email and phone conversation, that this was indeed an unusual circumstance but when she went to her manager to get an exception, guess what? They denied and denied and denied.
