This place has severely gone down hill. My husband and I use to come here weekly for date night. Had a great waitress that always took care of us. We moved to other side of town and didn't make it out. We stop in very rarely because each time we come it seems to get worse. We order the same things pretty much every time. The food is either cold or very poorly made. The wait staff seems to want you to eat and get out as soon as possible no matter the time of day. Not a place I recommend, yes prices are hard to beat but the quailty is definitely lacking. Hoping for better quality someday...miss date night.
It's hard to go wrong with Steak 'n Shake. Good food and delicious milkshakes all for a super cheap price. But, like with any other table service place, your experience is going to vary based on your waiter/waitress and wait times. This specific location's staff seemed very overwhelmed. We didn't get drinks until our food was brought out to us, so that was a bit irritating and our waitress was rude after seeing our displeasure with the new table beside us who sat down almost 10 mins after us and were given all of their drinks and salads almost immediately while we continued to wait for at least a water. Again, Steak 'n Shake is a great place to eat. It'll always very based on the service you receive. My biggest bit of advice would be not to go when they're busy and don't expect exceptional service.
The place was very clean. Waitstaff was professional. The food is always good for a quick bite. Shakes as always off the hook. I highly suggest trying the new burger. Much thicker than the standard patty. Much flavor!
Every time I go I am waiting a half an hour to forty five minutes for my food. It is ridiculous! I barely order that much and half of the time they're barely busy. Last night I knew they were. But, I am sorry the order I got was COVERED in cheese sauce. It was nasty. And they forgot my sprite. I was really looking forward to that sprite since I have been sick. I didn't want to go back though. Because it was 3 in the morning and there were two cars behind me. It probably would've taken another 30 plus minutes. I can understand being busy. But, please take some pride in your job, steak n shake crew. I am never impressed or satisfied.
