They have attempted to update the easy stuff... Comforters, lamp shades... But the furniture, bathroom tiles, etc are in rough shape. Food was good in the grille but my drinks, which were on the cocktail special list, were made incorrectly and martinis has lots of ice in them.
Pet friendly is great for some and I have a pet but do not travel with it. The background sound of dogs barking off-and-on at night was not conducive to a great evening or a good sleep. Not to mention your odds of getting a room a dog slept in the night before (allergies?). The staff - 90% of them - are very friendly and helpful and the suite was clean and "fun" with a theme for grins. We did the "food package" and I'm not sure we would do that again if we ever stayed here again (not likely) as the food items you could choose with that package are quite limited, especially if you are a vegetarian or vegan.
So the staff is a plus, the food not so much, the dogs not at all and the price with all of this in mind is not in line; there are other places to stay in the area and we will access those next time.
Had a party of 17 in private area and waitress was amazing by herself. Food was good as usual. The menu does change frequently so don't count on the same thing every time. It is a good thing.
Of course they always have their amazing prime rib.
Loved the lobby experience. The vintage woods and furniture was wonderful. I heard rooms had been recently updated. The room i was in was decent though you could tell the update was a bit half done with sink counter and fixtures still being old school. I very much disliked that you share balcony's with no divider. It was just awkward enjoying a beverage with your lady and a gentleman in his pajamas comes out and basically sits next to you. Plus you must lock said balcony door since your neighbor has access to your room if you do not. They should definitely get false dividers. My stay included dinner and breakfast vouchers with was great. Only thing was the dinner food was less than stellar. I've never had a crabcake i did not like until eating their. Also deep fried cod and pan fried cod was flavor less. We were also the youngest couple in there with average age appearing to be early 60's(maybe that was just from a birthday party of elderly ladies all in animal print with cat ears hitting on any man they saw... No joke). On the other hand Sunday brunch was stellar. Omelet station, lots of fruit and more pastry/dessert dishes than one could imagine plus your standard bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy. I would honestly come on Sunday morn just for this. Overall i had a great time though dinner was a disaster the people watching made it all better.
Love this cute boutique hotel! Their boutique rooms are so cool! Different unique themes, but very tasteful design. We loved it! The food in the bar and grill is delicious! They had live music in the lounge the night we were there which was great. Had the prime rib for dinner, which was complimentary with our dinner and breakfast hotel package, definitely a great deal! Can't wait to stay again!
