The registration staff have been wonderful, both over the phone and in person. My experience with the Bowen Center, so far has been a big comfort during a difficult time.

Went to the Fort wayne Bowen Center for a psych evaluation. I saw doctor serecoti. I was told 2 weeks for results then 30 days. Then i was told 6 weeks. I been calling and i get no information. I even left a message for the supervisor and i never received a phone call back. A few of the staff that answered the phone were rude and had no concern of my frustration and showed no remorse for my feelings.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This facility is a joke for those with mental health issues. My step son has been prescribed a medicine that is not even approved to treat ADHD, we have expressed our thoughts, tried and tried to get him switched, we now have custody of him and are leaving this place and never looking back! Terrible people, terrible staff, if you value your loved ones health and state of mind do not take them to Bowen. We are taking our son to a new doctor specifically skilled in his affliction and hoping for actual results. Lemkpe has done nothing to help him, nothing at all.

WHERE do I begin...? First, let's start with my boyfriend's experiences, since this is the most recent incident. He had a depression fit, they first send him to PBH, then they (Bowen) bring him to THEIR inpatient facility - out in PIERCETON of all places - for a review. He told me some rather unnerving things, and his social worker only made me more worried. Among the things he told me were that they were about 8 miles from Warsaw, they were near next to nothing (literally), fenced-in yard (weird since they're next to nothing), and it's actually a reused building. He said they fed him Banquet TV dinners for each meal, out of a big freezer they kept them in. But what REALLY unnerved me is what his "social worker" said (if she even IS a licensed social worker): "We don't have a direct line for the public. We have only one building - that is, the unit has its own building here - and if you want to reach us, then you first have to call the Warsaw office, who then will route you through to us." Umm.. WHAT?! So you're out of civilization's reach with no way to contact you about our loved ones?? How is this even legal?? Also, if you go through PBH with Bowen being your primary care giver, apparently (per everyone I spoke to about it at PBH) you MUST see Mahender Surakanti, who is generally known as a total quack by pretty much everyone who has seen him, including myself - just look at the other reviews here. This fool prescribed my boyfriend, who has frequent harsh bouts with depression, SLEEPING PILLS. Who the Sam hill prescribes someone with clinical depression something that is traditionally used to off themselves with?? They released him to my residence with scripts for doses of his mood stabilizers that are lower than what they had him stable on in the unit, and completely neglected to even list his ADHD medication (his ADHD makes his concentration extremely difficult, which in turn exacerbates his depression because he begins to feel more inadequate), all of which is destabilizing him since discharge. The icing on the cake is that they ensured us last Wednesday that they'd provide transportation for him to reach his appointments til I could get him a bus pass for the month (much cheaper than per ride), as neither of us have a car. I've been sitting here since 9am, it's now 11:30am, and none has shown. He had an appointment at 10. He also has an involuntary outpatient commitment through them. He is also still required to see Surakanti.

Most of the staff members I have interacted with over the years have been kind and caring but I had one experience with a staff member who rude and very insinuating towards me....instead of trying to be helpful in the needs of my child. Shouldnt their patients be their number one priority? Especially children? This was not the case in my experience today. I am always kind and respectful towards staff and I feel I should be treated with the same manners.

I'm highly disappointed with the way in which was treated and will be looking elsewhere for the care of my daughter.

I don't even feel like continuing, though I could go through with a few more specific examples over a couple other times we've dealt with them. I normally don't write much in a review, but I figured that someone might like to know the intimate details in what to expect (particularly with their inpatient unit) since that stuff hasn't been listed yet.
