I set up an appointment over the phone for my initial testing and received several emails confirming the date and time. When I showed up on the proper day and time, no one could be found and the building was locked. I called several people to find out what was going on. I got a call a few days later informing me they had set up my appointment on a day they are closed and I should have known that. An employee from Ivy Tech set up my appointment, why should I know their hours? They were unwilling to help me resolve the issue. I took the day off work to try again to take my test. After the testing, I met with a very rude adviser. She told me I shouldn't try to go in for business because I wasn't up to standards on math. Maybe I would be better suited for factory work. I wanted to go to school to further my education in a career I wanted to pursue not be belittled and offered work in a job I don't need college for. Shouldn't the advisers be helping you set up for goals not steer you away from them.
Tell your "professors" To focus on teaching their classes instead of getting interlaced in political propaganda in the middle of class. Thank you and goodbye.
Had troubles getting into payment plans multiple times and nobody could give me answers why. Repeatedly got removed from my payment plans when the money was taken out of my account then returned. Each time i went to re-sign up the payments would increase. Then I got billed $60 for it not going through. I had to drop out due to them not accepting my money. Very disappointed!
The teachers I've encountered from the Ft. Wayne campus do not teach. They refuse to assist students during their learning process. They lie to students. They mark correct answers as incorrect because it suits them. I speak specifically of Eric Johnson and Osama Abouelkheir. These two are despicable human beings with no morals. They are not fit for their positions at this school.
My boyfriend is a student here and when he signed up for his second year and financial aide, they accused him of fraud because he lost his job 2 years ago, thus the reason for going back to school, and said he's a liar and stole money from financial aide. He filled out the proper paperwork stating his situation the year prior and it wasn't properly filed by Ivy Tech this year and so came the accusations. Instead of looking into situations and finding a solution like proper customer service, they are rude and vile people. If you can get past the horrible attitudes of the employees, my boyfriend is happy with the teachers and education he is receiving, but he also was discouraged from trying to join the program he wanted to by a disgruntled adviser.
As a graduate, I was very impressed with the way instructors really care about you - totally unlike the university across the street (which I attended long ago). Don't get caught up in the appeal of a name - if you want a good education at a fair overall cost and superiod ROI, this is the college for you.
