Went to see the new Thor movie in 3d. There was nobody at the ticket booth, just a machine inside where you could purchase tickets. Nobody was collecting or checking tickets inside. Anybody could have just walked right in. Nobody gave us any 3d glasses. Had to grab some out of the recycling bin outside the theater. Paid close to $20 for a bucket of stale popcorn and a coke. Movie was supposed to begin at 7:30 PM. Got there at 7:00. Nobody in the theater except for us. At 7:35, still no previews or anything. Got up and told one of the workers at the concession stand. The guy said it should begin any minute. At 7:45, still nothing. Got up and returned to the concession stand and talked to someone else. A few minutes later, the movie started with no previews, and NO SOUND! Waited a minute or 2 to see if the sound would come on. Returned to the concession stand yet again and told them there was no sound. When the sound finally came on, it was far too loud. Was hard to watch. These people clearly don't know what they're doing, or just don't care. They had a ton of workers behind the concession stand. Clearly, that's all they seem to care about. Don't plan on returning!
Fine theater for me, screens aren't the best but are passable if you can ignore small pinpricks, which is pretty easy if the movie is good enough to distract from it. Staff is okay, not worse or better than your average run-of-the-mill movie theater, but that's fine with me. The only reason it isn't four stars is because their phone number is on a constant "we are overrun with calls, try again" setting. I have called about a dozen different times in the past couple months and I get the same thing. I'm pretty sure they're phone lines are booked at 10am on a Tuesday... Open up calls or please just get rid of your phone number, it does get pretty irritating. Other than that it would be four stars for me.
Was better when Rave owned it, before the seemingly less well-run Carmike bought most of the really nice Raves out. Before they "merged", I had been to both and Rave was a much nicer chain. One good thing, for example, that went away were the ticket-purchasing kiosks, which were very nice to use for us "automated/electronic generation kids". I thought that technology was supposed to be used more and more in today's world, not less! I get that we can now do that online... but, with additional fees. "Very nice" being bought out by just "ok to good" is most often not a good thing.
My favorite theater I have been to. Customer service is awesome. Menu options for food is great. Tickets are reasonable for quality of theaters. Highly recommend!
Didn't like that the house lights were on during the movie. It was distracted from the movie and made it difficult to enjoy. I doubt that I go back and watch a movie there again. Overall I liked the sound quality of the Movie that I watched.
