I had a very easy laser surgery for cataract. I was scared to have it done, but they do give you something to calm you way down. I had no pain, I was just VERY relaxed. It only takes about 10 to 15 min and I was done. I did NOT see when they would approach my eye. Believe me, it is a PAINLESS thing to go through,. No pain afterwards either. I even played on my computer a couple of hours after I got home. The next day was everything back to normal. I was on my computer and ipads and iphone playing games most of the day. You do have to wear a clear little plastic eye patch over your eye for the first week ONLY when taking naps or sleeping for the night. But you can see through it. All you do is just tape that on and remove in the morning. Again NO PROBLEM. Anyone thinking about this, don't let fear stop you. Again, it was PAINLESS and fast.
A specialist sent me to the institute to remove floaters. After testing on my eyes were started, someone walked in and said that my file was sitting on someone's desk desk. They forgot a get a precertification from the insurance company. The Surgeon looked at my eyes and immediately said the can not remove what they call cloud floaters. My specialist should had know this too. I got charged $199.52 for unnecessary testing. Since the preauthorize of the insurance was not done, I would had cancelled the appointment. Two other laser surgeries were done because of clouds over my eyes, 2 months after having cataracts removed. Neither surgery helped, it was nothing but a big loss of money for me.
Dr. Hughes explained to me the procedure in my consultation and again before the procedure..so I was assured I was in good hands. I'm Thanking everyone from the receptionist to the Nurse that helped me out the door...You are AWESOME
My experience on yesterday was much more than I expected..I was so nervous but the first person that helped me eased all my fears.
I don't usually leave reviews, but in this case I felt it was necessary. I had an appointment at the cataract a laser institute yesterday. I have never had such wonderful service. The nurses there were terrific. They made me feel like family, and went out of their way to make sure I was very comfortable. Mary-Beth was one of my nurses who listened to my needs about not wanting general anesthesia. She was very nice about my request and even held my hand throughout the entire procedure! I would recommend the institute to anyone. Amazing experience!
The staff is very friendly. That is about the only good thing. I feel your treated like cattle and you are hearded all the way through. They overbook. You wait for HOURS for a simple recheck. The waiting room is absolutely FULL. Didn't have a seat available for a while. Plan on wasting half you day away.
