Update: the local branch left me a voice mail to apologize for their mistake. They have rectified the situation and as I said, I would update my review once it was resolved.
When PNC makes a mistake, they like to play the blame game amongst themselves. I've always been taught that customer service is about the CUSTOMER, not about covering your own rear-end or passing blame. Guess I'll start shopping for a bank that is local, and community-focused and knows what customer service really means. PNC you might want to have some phone training with your employees as well. It's never polite to talk over and/or interrupt a customer when they are trying to explain the situation. How can you help if you don't know what happened because you aren't listening? I'll update this review if and when this situation is resolved.
I'm new to the area but needed to set up an account pretty quick. These people were professionals. Polite. Efficient. This os after calling a few other banks that were less than up to the mark.
